Otis Washington
Let me introduce myself. My name is Otis Washington, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social worker (Therapist) and Pastor. I’m also a husband, father, son, brother, and friend. If someone were to ask me what my gift is, I would say connecting to others. God has placed the call in my life of a Shepherd to serve others. I have dedicated my life to trying to improve the lives of others. I love to collect toys and books, watch anything Auburn-related, and watch movies. I’m genuinely excited about the opportunity to host this podcast, “Forsaken Horizon,” because I identify with loneliness on this journey through the horizon we call “life,” There are times when, as a person, I feel that I have reached my limit mentally, physically and spiritually and feel like I've been forsaken and then I stop, take a moment, and realize that I’ve never been alone. I’ve had someone walking beside me since day one, and I’ve never been forsaken.

Hi everyone! To give you an idea of myself, it took me about an hour and several re-writes to type up this bio about myself, so clearly, I'm an overthinker! But to briefly sum me up, I'm a Christian, friend, daughter, sister, aunt, book lover, and vintage soul. I have a special passion for mental health and therapy and can talk for hours about those topics. I came upon a quote recently by Dietrich Bonhoeffer that says "We must be ready to allow ourselves to be interrupted by God". It makes me think about how easy it is to think we are in control of our lives and can plan out every step of the way. But I'm coming to realize (through a painful process) that we are not the masters of our lives. To let go of the pressures and the social expectations and the fears is hard...but I believe on the other side of it is peace. That's what I'm striving for in life right now.... letting go and finding peace. And I don't have it all figured out (sometimes it feels like none of the ducks are in a row) but I'm praying and seeking to learn and hope we can do that together. Truth and peace to you. -Katie
Nick Stone
My name is Nick Stone. I graduated from Fort Payne High School in 2009 where I wrestled for them. Our team placed 2nd in the state and I also took 2nd in my weight for Alabama at 174 pounds. I have been friends with Otis Washington for about 10 years. I was introduced to the rest of the members for us to start this podcast by Otis. I look forward to sharing the word of God to others to show that we are not perfect, but God is and that our mistakes do not define us.
